In the swinging 60s, Steve and his family embarked on a new chapter as they joined Greene Country Club. Under the watchful eye of Head Pro Chuck Licher, Steve's passion for golf flourished. Chuck became more than a mentor, teaching Steve the technicalities of the game but also the virtues of sportsmanship and respect.

Chuck's tournaments became a classroom, where Steve and his peers learned the art of preparation, the thrill of competition, and the importance of etiquette and rules. Those formative years at Greene CC laid the foundation for Steve's future successes on the course.

Steve claimed victory in the Club and Senior Club Championships at both Greene CC and Country Club of the North across the decades and is looking forward to the Super Senior Events as well.

After retiring from his civilian career in the Air Force, Steve transitioned seamlessly into roles as a high school golf and basketball coach, guiding young athletes toward excellence both on and off the field. Coaching the Fairborn Skyhawks varsity girl's basketball team from 2007 to 2013 was a particularly cherished chapter.

Outside the realm of sports, his family remained Steve's greatest treasure. With his wife Jennifer by his side, he reveled in the joys of fatherhood, raising five remarkable daughters and welcoming ten beloved grandchildren into their fold.

In the twilight of his career, Steve found fulfillment in service, volunteering as a Rules Official with Miami Valley Golf and lending his expertise to tournaments organized by The Ohio Golf Association and OHSAA. Through his work, he stayed connected to the sport he loved.
